About Francisco
Francisco has been coaching people to better health for 23 years. He came to fitness because he saw what it did for the people around him: the right program changed their confidence, their energy and the way they moved through an ordinary day.
He started The Fit Potato to offer that kind of coaching privately, one person at a time. Over two decades he has trained complete beginners, competitive runners and clients in their 70s managing old injuries. His clients have lost more than a hundred pounds, qualified for the Boston Marathon and come back to running after knee problems. Some have trained with him for more than ten years.
He is an ACE-certified personal trainer based in Dublin, CA, and works with clients in Danville, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Alamo and Livermore, plus online clients wherever they live.
How we coach
Every program begins with how you move today, old injuries included. Nobody is too old or too out of shape to begin.
You’ll work hard, and you will never be asked to push through pain. If a movement hurts, it changes on the spot.
Exercises are chosen for what you want to do: get up off the floor easily, play eighteen holes, lift a grandchild, travel without worry.
Plans adjust as your life does. Some clients have trained with us for more than ten years.
“I’ve been working with Francisco for over 10 years. I was over 50 when I started.”

Questions, answered
What certifications does Francisco have?
Francisco is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, certified by the American Council on Exercise, one of the most widely recognized personal training certifications in the United States.
How long has Francisco been a personal trainer?
Francisco has been coaching for 23 years. In that time he has worked with beginners, competitive runners, people losing large amounts of weight and older adults training around injuries and joint replacements.
Does Francisco work with people over 50 who are new to exercise?
Yes. Most Fit Potato clients are between 50 and 80, and many had never strength trained before. Programs start with how you move today and progress at a pace your body can handle.
Where is The Fit Potato located?
The Fit Potato is based in Dublin, CA. Sessions take place at clients’ homes, their club gyms or outdoors in Dublin, Danville, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Alamo and Livermore.
Does Francisco offer online training?
Yes. Online coaching by video is available for clients who travel often or live outside the East Bay. Francisco coached a runner to a Boston Marathon qualifier entirely online.
Why is it called The Fit Potato?
The name is a friendly nudge away from being a couch potato. The idea behind it is simple: your health is your wealth, and it is worth investing in at every age.
Let’s talk about what you want to keep doing.
