- Groups of about 4 to 8
- Every exercise scaled to your level
The energy of a class. The attention of a coach.
Big classes are hard to walk into when you’re the oldest in the room or don’t know the moves. Small groups fix both. With about four to eight people, every exercise is shown, scaled and checked, and the people beside you are working at their own pace too.
Francisco keeps each group’s workouts built around what adults over 50 need most: leg and hip strength, balance, posture and enough conditioning to keep up with travel and grandkids. Friendships tend to follow, and so does showing up every week.
Is this right for you?
A good fit if
- You work harder when other people are counting on you to show up.
- You’d like expert coaching without the cost of private sessions.
- You’ve felt out of place in crowded gym classes.
- You want to meet people nearby who are working on the same things.
Probably not a fit if
- You need one-on-one attention for an injury or a specific goal. Private training is the better fit.
How to join
Ask about current groups, times and locations. Schedules change with the seasons.
Come as you are. Your coach shows every move and gives you an easier or harder version.
Most people settle into one or two sessions a week with the same small group.
“Joining The FIT Potato’s group classes was one of the best decisions I ever made.”

Questions, answered
How many people are in a small group fitness class?
Groups are kept small, typically about four to eight people. That way the coach can watch everyone’s form, adjust exercises on the spot and still keep the energy of training with others.
Are small group classes good for beginners over 50?
Yes. Every exercise is taught step by step with easier and harder versions, so beginners and experienced exercisers can train side by side. Nobody is expected to keep up with the fittest person in the room.
Where and when are the group classes?
Times and locations change with the seasons and are mostly in and around Dublin. Contact The Fit Potato for the current schedule and openings, and we’ll suggest the group that fits your level.
Is small group training as effective as personal training?
For many people it is, because the accountability of a group keeps them consistent. Personal training is the better choice if you are coming back from an injury or have a very specific goal that needs a fully individual plan.
What do I need to bring to a group class?
Comfortable clothes, supportive shoes and a water bottle. Your coach brings the equipment. If you have an injury or health condition, mention it before your first session so exercises can be adjusted.
